Shri Mukesh Singh- IPS, Inspector General of Police  Jammu Zone visited District Ramban and held a meeting which was attended by SSP Ramban and all GOs/SHOs of district Ramban. Besides, a darbar of officers/Jawanswas also held in the DPL at District Ramban.

      While interacting with the Officers, the IGP urged upon them to keep close surveillance over the activities of OGWs, mischief mongers, miscreants and trouble creators so that law & order is maintained at any cost. He also advised the officers to respond to the public issues promptly and adopt a public friendly approach to win the hearts and minds of the public. The IGP called for synergizing Police-Public Partnership Groups and directed the officers to conduct regular PCPG and CSC meetings with the general public in their areas of responsibility. He also stressed for ensuring strenuous police efforts towards maintenance of communal harmony and brotherhood. The senior officers of the district were asked to personally address these meetings and educate the people on fighting the menace of terrorism, drug abuse and other social evils prevailing in the society.

      SSP Ramban also made a power point presentation of district profile and the working of District Police before the IGP Jammu during the meeting.IGP Jammu Zone also instructed all the supervisory officers to improve the quality of investigation so that conviction rate could be improved especially in cases of heinous nature.

During the visit Mr Singh also conducted Darbar of Officers/Jawans in DPL at Ramban and heard their grievances. He assured them that all the genuine concerns would be looked into on priority at PHQ/ZPHQ level. While addressing the Darbar, he advised for maintaining extra alertness in view of present security situation. He emphasized upon close coordination with other security agencies, instant sharing of intelligence inputs in order to nip the militancy in the bud.

 A guard of honour was also presented to IGP Jammu Zone by the contingents of district Police in DPL Ramban. IGP Jammu also inaugurated the newly constructed park at DPO Ramban and planted a sapling in the said park.

     IGP Jammu Zone also visited Hqrs Delta Force Dharmkund, Batote and met the core Commander, GOC and other Army Officers.
